August 2025 – Expression of Interest for WISH Chair role – download

August 2025 – Dear Colleague, we are the Waste Industry Safety and Health (WISH) Leadership and Worker Engagement group. The group is made up of trade union safety representatives, managers and health and safety advisers from across the waste and recycling industry, and also includes representation from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).  We have so far produced tools to help improve health and safety leadership and worker engagement in the industry, and launched and tested them at dedicated events. We are now looking at how health and safety issues are communicated and discussed in front line workplaces in the waste sector, so that we can find out what you think is the best way to do this. We need your help to find out how things are in your workplace and what you think could be done differently, and you can do this by completing this simple survey.  Please complete the survey by 30th September 2025. We will publish and share the findings, hopefully by the end of this year. Please also share with colleagues in your organisation, we are particularly interested in the views of frontline workers.
