WISH Webinar Conference – 7 October 2020

COVID-19 has changed the ways we work and the ways we interact and communicate. WISH has been no exception to this. Originally, we planned to hold our biennial conference in March of this year. This has not been possible, and it seems likely that our full face-to-face and workshop-focussed conference will need to be postponed for the foreseeable future.

Despite the challenges of recent months, the need for the waste and recycling industry to improve its health and safety performance is as valid as ever. WISH, in common with other organisations, needs to adapt to maintain its key position in supporting this improvement. In the past WISH conferences have consisted a morning session of presentations and an afternoon session of workshops. While we are still considering how and when we can hold workshops in a safe manner, we can at least proceed with our ‘morning’ presentations.

The WISH webinar conference will take place on 7 October 2020. The programme is as below.

My personal thanks go to letsrecycle for facilitating the webinar.

  • The webinar will be used to launch consultation on a new waste and recycling industry strategy (a summary ‘boiler plate’ is appended to this note and the full strategy is available on the WISH web site). Comments on this draft new strategy should be sent via info@wishforum.org.uk
  • I am sure that the webinar will raise various questions. However, without extending the webinar significantly a traditional Q&A session is not practical. If you have any questions please send them to WISH at info@wishforum.org.uk. We will collate these and provide answers via the WISH web site after the webinar
